Bespoke Shaker Kitchen in Chorleywood

A generous, light-filled Shaker kitchen built around a large granite island, integrated Miele appliances and flexible open-plan living.

This bespoke Shaker kitchen in Chorleywood was planned as the centre of a large open-plan room. A substantial island creates a clear place for preparation, cooking and informal seating without interrupting the route between the kitchen, dining area and garden.

Design, Materials and Practical Details

The cabinetry combines tulipwood and moisture-resistant MDF with oak-veneered interiors, finished in Farrow & Ball Dimpse for a soft, architectural grey. Granite provides a durable working surface across the island and perimeter, while tall housings keep the appliance wall visually balanced.

A comprehensive Miele appliance suite includes a coffee machine, steam oven and two single ovens. The island brings together a seven-zone induction hob, teppanyaki cooking area, storage and seating, giving the room a practical working core with a calm, uncluttered appearance.
