This made-to-measure kitchen in Chorleywood uses Farrow & Ball Cooking Apple Green to bring a gentle, understated colour through the open-plan space. Design, Materials and Practical Details

Tulipwood cabinetry with oak-veneered interiors is paired with oak worktops through the preparation areas and granite around the freestanding range. White brick-format tiles keep the cooking recess light and provide a clean backdrop to the detailed overmantel.

The island adds a second sink, preparation space and informal seating. Behind the painted fronts, purpose-built access panels and organised plumbing demonstrate the same attention to practical detail as the visible joinery.
